چکیده

Abstract Background Cotton ( Gossypium hirsutum L.) is grown for fiber and oil purposes in tropical sub-tropical areas of the world. Pakistan 4th largest producer cotton. It has a significant contribution GDP Pakistan. Therefore, present study was performed to assess genetic variations diversity yield quality traits cotton analyze associations among them. Results Analysis variance exhibited variation all studied except total number nodes height node ratio. The phenotypic coefficient higher than genotypic traits. Plant height, monopodial branches, bolls, lint index, seed displayed high heritabilities broad sense with maximum advance. Correlation analysis revealed that had positive association plant sympodial ginning outturn (GOT), per boll, uniformity reflectance, index at level while relationship observed boll number, GOT. GOT, weight, seeds short exerted direct effects on yield. first 6 principal component (PCs) out fourteen PCs eigenvalues (> 1) share variability (82.79%). attributes divergence included yield, index. Conclusion genotype AA-802, IUB-13, FH-159, FH-458, CIM-595 were genetically diverse most could be utilized selection better performing genotypes further improvement.

Assessment of genetic variability, heritability and association of plant attributes with lint yield and fiber quality in advanced lines of cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.)

Information on genetic variability and heritability of plant attributes and their correlation with lint yield and fiber quality is important for planning breeding and selection strategies for prediction of genetic gains in cotton breeding programs. For these purpose, a field experiment was carried out using randomized complete block design with four replications in 2016 and 2017 at Hashem-Abad ...

QTL Mapping for Fiber and Yield Traits in Upland Cotton under Multiple Environments

A population of 178 recombinant inbred lines (RILs) was developed using a single seed descendant from a cross between G. hirsutum. acc DH962 and G. hirsutum. cv Jimian5, was used to construct a genetic map and to map QTL for fiber and yield traits. A total of 644 polymorphic loci were used to construct a final genetic map, containing 616 loci and spanning 2016.44 cM, with an average of 3.27 cM ...
